Laura, daughter of Fred and Metha Elizabeth (Ploen) Moeller was born December 18, 1909, on the family farm southeast of Manning, in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa. She attended rural school in Lincoln Township through the eighth grade. She then helped on the farm with chores and housework. Laura, her sister Betty and brother Freddie continued to live on the farm after the deaths of her parents.

In her spare time Laura enjoyed gardening, baking bread, quilting, sewing, crocheting and playing bingo.

In 1990 Laura, Betty and Freddie moved to Manning. After the deaths of Freddie and Betty, Laura continued to live at home until she moved to the Manning Plaza in September 2003. On May 2, 2009, Laura died there at the age of 99 years, 4 months and 14 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: John Moeller, Amanda Sinow, Minnie Sinow, Freddie Moeller and Betty Moeller and nephews Melvin Sinow and Jim Sinow.

Laura is survived by nieces and nephews: Milton Sinow and wife Betty of Manning; Elayne Sinow of Audubon; Roger Sinow of Gray; John Dee Moeller of Badger and Craig Moeller of Manning; other relatives and many friends.
