Mrs. Herman Meyer funeral rites held Saturday

Mrs. Herman C. Meyer, 65, Manning, died at 6:55 p m Wednesday, November 6, 1963, at St. Anthony hospital in Carroll, where she had been a patient since October 24. Her death followed a year's illness.

Her funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church here with the Rev George B. Eschenbacher officiating. Mrs. Iris Iddings was organist and vocalists were Mrs. Amos (Dorothy) Kusel, Mrs. Bob Hinners, Mrs. Albert Puck and Mrs. John Musfeldt, Jr. Burial was in the Manning cemetery, under direction of the Ohde Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Fred Maasen, Delmar Mundt, Joe Hugeback, Gerhardt Voge, Emil Kuhn and Hugo Ahrendsen.

Mrs. Meyer was the former Laura Johanna Wiebers, daughter of Claus C. and Claudina (Kaspersen) Wiebers. She was born July 15, 1898, at Arcadia. She attended Mankato Bethany Ladies College, Mankato, Minnesota, and Denison Commercial College. Her marriage to Herman C. Meyer took place January 15, 1919, and they resided on a farm near Manning.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (LaVern) Wittrock, Halbur, and Mrs. Paul (Lorene) Potter, Columbus, Indiana; and 13 grandchildren. Her parents and one sister, Mrs. Frank (Hattie) Meehana, preceded her in death.

Out of town relatives and friends attending came from Carroll, Arcadia, Westside, Halbur, Jefferson, Paulina and Templeton. Ernest Meyer of Monrovia, California, also attended.


Laura Meyer is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
