Funeral services for Larry Lee Nielsen were held Friday, April 14, 1995, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Manning, Iowa. Reverend Larry McAlpine officiated the service with Jan Myer as organist. Interment was held at Manning City Cemetery with Richard Dammann, Ron Hansen, Warren Puck, Ron Hodne, Gary Schroeder and Bob Laverty as casketbearers. Visitation was held Thursday, after 3:00 p.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning.

Larry, son of Claus and Bernice Nielsen, was born January 22, 1939, at Manning, Iowa. He attended Manning schools and was graduated with the Manning High School class of 1957. In 1961 he was graduated from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa.

Larry was employed as vice president of distribution for Kenney Manufacturing Company in Warwick, Rhode Island; he made his home in Barrington, Rhode Island.

He died suddenly and unexpectedly at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island on Monday morning, April 10, 1995, at the age of 56 years, 2 months, and 19 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of Barrington, Rhode Island; two sons: Brandon Northrup of Barrington, Rhode Island and Mark Nielsen of Huntington Beach, California; three daughters: Jennifer Nielsen of Huntington Beach, California; Linda Perry of San Diego, California; and Suzanne Palermo of Long Beach, California; two grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Smith of East Moline, Illinois; a brother, Roger Nielsen of Denison; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
