Memorial service for LaRene C. Meyer of Ames will be held on Monday, May 6, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ames, Iowa.
Ms. Meyer, 76, a Manning native, died Thursday, April 25, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines following a six-month illness. The body has been donated to science. There will be a burial ceremony at Manning Cemetery at a later date.

LaRene, daughter of Herman and Laura (Wiebers) Meyer, was born December 6, 1925, at Manning. She graduated from Manning High School in 1943. She worked as a secretary at Columbus Regional Hospital in Indiana for many years. She moved to Ames and was a secretary at Beloit Lutheran Services of Ames.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ames.

Ms. Meyer was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two sons: Steve Potter of Columbus, Indiana and Chuck Potter of Kelly, Iowa; three daughters: Kathy Hildebrand of Columbus, Susan Baker of Columbus and Julie Stephens of State Center; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, LaVeme Wittrock and her husband, Walter, of Halbur.
