Kay Margaret Pfannkuch, age 84, of Le Mars, Iowa, and formerly of Manning, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church in Manning with Rev. John Pea officiating. Organist for the service will be Connie Siepker and soloist will be Chris Frisbie. Casket bearers will be Matt Feller, Micah Greenfield, Larry Jo Hinners, Eve Pfannkuch, Keith Pfannkuch, and Russ Stribe. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Manning from 5 - 7 P.M. on Friday evening. Additional visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 - 10:15 A.M. on Saturday. Born on December 13, 1934, in Le Mars, she was the oldest of eleven children. Kay was the daughter of Wayne and Faye (Nash) Collins. She grew up in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars High School. She attended Westmar College in Le Mars and Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, where she earned her teaching degree. She taught high school English in Elk Horn, Iowa, for three years. She was married to Donald Pfannkuch on August 2, 1959, at First Baptist Church in Le Mars. The couple made their home on a farm south of Manning where they were both active in the farming operation. Don retired from farming in 1996 and they moved into Manning in 2006. Kay was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Manning where she served on the Session, taught Sunday school, and was a member of the Presbyterian Women. She was also a member of P.E.O., the VFW Auxiliary, and she volunteered for Speak Up. Kay enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Kay is survived by her children: Hallie Greenfield (Tony) of Marshall, Minnesota, and Colin Pfannkuch (Dawn) Zumbrota, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Micah, Eve, Noah, and Faye; five sisters: Mary Gay McClatchey of Knoxville, Iowa; Sue Berreth (Clifford) of Eureka, South Dakota; Kathy Feller (Robert) Le Mars; Jill Collins of Sioux City; and Priscilla Strathman (Curt) of Le Mars; four brothers: Cary Collins (Carolyn) of Emory, Texas; Ted Collins (Malinda) of Le Mars; Tim Collins (Karen) of South Sandy, Utah; and Jack Collins of Le Mars; and many nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Faye Collins; her mother and father-in-law Frank and Emma Pfannkuch; her sister Nancy Rolfes; and her husband Donald in 2011.
