Mrs. Katie Ohrt died December in St. Anthony
Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Ohrt, 84, were held this Wednesday, at 2:00 at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, with the Rev Carl G. Sinning of the Presbyterian church officiating. Ray Pratt was soloist for the service; Mrs. Henry W. Hagedorn, accompanist.

Burial was in the Manning Cemetery. Henry Popp, Frank Stoelk, Ed Rudnick, Elmer Mueller, Peter Puck and Henry W. Hagedorn acted as pallbearers.

Daughter of Detlef and Anna (Tolk) Frahm, she was born April 4, 1875, in Crawford County, where she attended school. On October 10, 1895, she married John H. Ohrt. The couple farmed in Carroll and Audubon counties, then purchased a farm northwest of Manning. They retired to Manning in 1922. Mr. Ohrt died on December 4, 1938.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Julius, and a son, George (1901-02) in infancy; a brother, Detlef Frahm, and two half-brothers.

She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Hulda Ruhde.

Manning; Mrs. Clarence (Lillian) Kuhse, Wilmington, California; Mrs. Vernon (Mildred) Plummer, Oildale, California; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nellie Ohrt, Manning; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a half-sister, Mrs. Emma Hagge, Sac City; two half-brothers, John and Herman Frahm, Manning; and a brother-in-law, Henry Ohrt, Harlan.

She had been in ill health for a number of years and was taken to St Anthony hospital on the evening of December 1, where she died suddenly early on December 6, 1959.

Funeral services for Katherine (Mrs. John H.) Ohrt, 84, were to be held Wednesday at the Ohde Funeral Home here. Burial was to be in Manning Cemetery. She died Sunday at a Carroll hospital after a long illness.

Mrs. Ohrt was born in Crawford County and lived in this area all her life. Her husband died in 1938.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Hulda Ruhde, Manning; Mrs. Clarence Kuhse, Wilmington, California, and Mrs. Vernon Plummer, Oildale, California; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nellie Ohrt, Manning; a half-sister, two half-brothers, 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
