Karen Kroeger Tripp

Funeral services for Karen Kroeger Tripp were held April 25, 1994, at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church in Ashland, Nebraska. Casketbearers were Dick Pike, Jr., Ron Pike, Jerry Pike, Gary Pike, Rick Vest and Dave Pierce. Honorary casket-bearers were Don Lacy, Jim Anderson, Jim Lummus, Bob Kruger, Dan Crane, Randy Dreessen and Rod Nichols. Interment of cremains was held at Ashland Cemetery with arangements by Marcy Mortuary.

Karen was born July 27, 1938, in Manning, Iowa, daughter of Gilbert and Elaine (Hargens) Kroeger. She was raised on a farm near Westside, Iowa and graduated from Westside High School in 1956. She married Larry Tripp, now deceased, in 1958. She resided in Ashland, Nebraska, for over 25 years and operated Karen's Barbershop for many years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert; her husband, Larry; one brother, Gary; and grandson, Heath.

She is survived by her mother, Elaine Kroeger of Vail, Iowa; her children: Leesa Shumaker, of Lincoln; Anthony Tripp, Tamara Abbott, and Randall Tripp, all of Ashland, and Russell Tripp of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren; one brother, Rollin Kroeger of Amarillo, Texas; seven sisters: Janine Lacy of Ashland, Missouri; Frances Kruger of Layton, Utah; Donna Keairnes of Ashland, Nebraska; Wendy Crane of Vail; Rhonda Lummus of Concordia, Missouri; LuAnn Dreessen of Amarillo, Texas; and Jill Nichols of Lincoln, Nebraska; beloved friend, Richard Pike, of Ashland, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
