JULIUS WEHRMANN
Julius Wehrmann, retired Manning merchant, died of a stroke at 9:30 p.m. Monday, July 6, 1959, in St. Anthony Hospital at Carroll. He had been admitted to the hospital at 12:45 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Church at Manning. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

The body may be viewed after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Ohde Funeral Home, where the rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m., Wednesday.

At 2 p.m. Thursday, the body will be taken to the family home, where the Rev. Thomas Molloy will lead the rosary at 8 p.m., Thursday.

Mr. Wehrmann, son of Chris and Dorothea (Wiese) Wehrmann, was born March 14, 1879, near Manning. When he was eight years old, the family moved into town.

At the age of 12 years he began working for Henry Hoffmann, Sr. in a mercantile store at Manning. Later, he was taken into partnership with Mr. Hoffmann and Gus Rober.

Subsequently, Mr. Wehrmann and Mr. Rober were partners in the Rober-Wehrmann Company. Other partners were Claus Claussen, and Ed Breckenridge.

Retiring from the store in 1939, Mr. Wehrmann had been a salesman for the W.B. Wyatt Company at Sac City the last 20 years.

He had been active in civic affairs. For 18 years he had been treasurer of the town of Manning. He had served as manager of the championship running team of the Manning Fire Department.

Mr. Wehrmann was married to Alice Kane of Boone, Iowa, November 26, 1919. Surviving with his wife are one brother, William Wehrmann, Glen Ellyn, Illinois; one niece, Mrs. George Douglas, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and a nephew, Raymond Wehrmann, Los Angeles, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters who died in childhood.
