Funeral mass for Julius Rowedder, 69, of Manning, was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday morning, June 22, 1970, at Sacred Heart Church in Manning, with Rev. Norbert Weber as celebrant. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Rowedder died suddenly at Manning General Hospital on Thursday afternoon, June 18. He had entered the hospital early Wednesday morning.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. William Rowedder, he was born April 30, 1901, in Hayes Township and attended schools in Manning. He was married to Margaret Vollmer on December 10, 1919, and they lived in Manning since that time. He was employed by Priebe and Co. for many years; and worked at the Manning Creamery Co. for more than 20 years, being semi-retired.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
He is survived by his wife; three children: Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Volquartsen, Manning; James, Reseda, California; Mrs. Clethus (Donna) McGrane, Arcadia; nine grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Hilda Hansen of Gray.
Rosaries were prayed at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning on Saturday and Sunday evenings at 8:00.
