Julius Ranniger was born in Iowa Township in Crawford County on a farm one mile north of Aspinwall in 1895. In 1920 he married Emma Lorenzen of Irwin.

They moved to a farm two miles west and two and one-half miles north of Manning. The farm was owned by his father. Eventually they bought the farm. They farmed there until 1954, then bought a house in Manning at 304 May Street. Julius passed away in 1959. Emma still lives in the house they bought.

To this union two children were born May Delle, who is married to Charles Engelmann and now lives in Denison, and Marian, married to Gilmore Joens and now lives near Arthur.

Funeral services for Julius Ranniger, 64, retired farmer, will he held Friday, June 19 at 2 p.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, The Rev. Lester Moore of the Manning Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Mr. Ranniger died at his home in Manning on Tuesday, June 15, 1959, following an extended illness.

Mr. Ranniger was born in Iowa Township on February 5, 1895, to William and Margaret (Heinrichsen) Ranniger. He attended school in Aspinwall. On March 3, 1920, he married Emma Lorenzen of Irwin at Denison. The couple farmed near Manning and moved to town 5 years ago.

Mr. Ranniger is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. Charles (May Delle) Engelmann of Denver and Mrs. Gilmore (Marian) Jones of Galva: 5 grandchildren, a brother, Louis of Manning, and 3 sisters, Mrs. Minnie Gruhn, Manilla; Mrs. Leon Koester, Albert Lea, Minnesota; and Mrs. Anna Farrell, Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-sister, Mrs. William Nagel of Minot, North Dakota.

The body may be viewed by friends at the Ohde Funeral Home after 7 on Wednesday evening.
