JULIUS OHRT
Funeral services for Julius John Ohrt, 46, were held at the Ohde Funeral home
Monday, April 21 with the Rev. Arthur Raeside of the Presbyterian church
officiating. Burial was in the Manning cemetery and pallbearers were Herman C.
Meyer, Feike Anton, August Kusel, Charles Schumann, Rudolph Opperman, and
George Kuhse. Music was furnished by a quartet, Martha (Mrs. Nicholas C.)
Schrum, Emma (Mrs. Albert) Dietz, Raymond Pratt, and Clifford
Johnson; with Bonita (Mrs. Henry) Hagedorn at the organ.
Mr. Ohrt was born May 22, 1900, in Audubon County, Iowa, the son of Katie and John Ohrt. He was married to Nellie Marie Mohr December 20, 1922, at Carroll.
Mr. Ohrt came with his parents to Carroll County in 1911 and had lived on the same farm for the past 24 years. He passed away at his home Thursday night at 8:10 o'clock, following a heart attack. He had been ill since February.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nellie Ohrt and children, Marian and Shirley, of Manning; three sisters, Mrs. Hulda Ruhde of Manning, Mrs. Clarence (Lillian) Kuhse of Wilmington, California, and Mrs. Vernon (Mildred) Plummer of Fresno, California, and his mother, Mrs. Katie Ohrt of Manning.
Attending services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kuhse and son, Wayne, of Wilmington, California, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Plummer and son, Larry, of Fresno, California, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mohr and Mr. and Mrs. John Mohr of Ute, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Gosch and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kuhse of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hagge of Sac City, Arlo Hagge of Ames, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Spack of Kiron, Mrs. Mamie Brandt of Denison and Mrs. Julius Molter of Carroll.
