DR. JULIUS JOHN MILLER

Dr. Julius John Miller passed away Friday, August 21, 1970, at Pomona Valley Community Hospital, Pomona, California after a short illness. Dr. Miller was born January 17, 1881, in Manning, Iowa. He graduated from Manning high school in 1900. He attended the University of Iowa one year, and graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1903. He practiced dentistry in Manning for 16 years and then moved to Denison, Iowa, where he entered the banking business. In 1957 he moved to Pomona, California.

Dr. Miller had been a member of the Sylvan Masonic Lodge #507 of Denison, Iowa since 1904. He was also a member of Abu Bekr Temple Shrine in Sioux City, Iowa and held the honorary 32 KCCH.

Dr. Miller is survived by his wife, Mrs. Amanda M. Miller, a daughter, Mrs. Ann Shaffer, both of Pomona, California, and two grandchildren, Ronnie Dean Shaffer, of Sherman Oaks, California, and Mrs. Teree Lee Hart, of Narragansett, Rhode Island.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 24th, in Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona. Compass Lodge #590 F. & A.M. conducted the ritual.

Shipment was made to Manning, Iowa, and interment was made in the Manning Cemetery.

Additional Notes: Mr. and Mrs. Max Schultz and Mrs. Lee Schumann attended graveside rites for J.J. Miller of Pomona, California, at the Manning Cemetery on Thursday afternoon.

Masonic Graveside rites for J.J. Miller, 89, will be held at the Manning Cemetery on Thursday, August 27, 1970, at 1:30 p.m., with the Ohde Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Miller, a former resident, died on Friday evening, August 21, at Pomona, California.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda (Hoffmann), and one daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Ann) Shaffer, Pomona, and two grandchildren.

Julius was the son of John W. and Marie C. (Kuhl) Miller.
