Exeter Man Dies In Visalia Hospital
Joseph Ferdinand Romey, 57, route 1, box 358, Exeter, California, and a native of Templeton, Iowa, died Saturday night, June 24, 1944, in the Visalia Municipal Hospital, Visalia, California.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Exeter and came to the Exeter district in 1938 from, Templeton, Iowa.

Son of Charles and Susanna (Langenfeld) Romey, he was born May 13, 1887, in Templeton. Joseph married Lydia Stang on August 26, 1919 at Manning, Iowa.

Romey is survived by his widow, Lydia, a resident of Exeter, and two sisters, Katherine Romey and Gertrude Romey, both of Templeton, Iowa.

Burial was in Exeter District Cemetery, Exeter, California.

Rosary And Funeral Rites Announced
Rosary services will be held at Exeter tomorrow night at 8 o'clock for Joseph F. Romey, 57, resident of the Exeter district who died Saturday in a Visalia hospital, and requiem mass will be offered by Father Mathew O'Brien Hunt, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Exeter, at 9 a.m. Thursday morning. Romey was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Exeter and had resided in the Exeter district since 1938, when he came to California from his native city of Templeton, Iowa. The services will be under the direction of the Hadlev Funeral Chapel of Exeter.

Romey is survived by his widow, Lydia, and two sisters, Katherine Romey and Gertrude Romey of Templeton, Iowa.
