The funeral services were held at the U.B. Church in this village, March 28, at 11 o'clock, and were conducted by Rev. J.L. Heyden, who chose as his text the 90th Psalm 12th verse. After a brief sermon, the remains, which were covered with bouquets, wreaths and flowers of different kinds, placed there by loving friends and neighbors, were viewed, after which the funeral cortege slowly wended its way to Manning, where the remains were taken for interment. The church was beautifully draped, and a larger crowd never was assembled in Botna, than on this occasion to perform the last respects to the dead.
