JOHN WUNDER DEAD.
John Wonder died at his home nine miles northwest, one week ago this morning, January 5. He had been ill for some three or four weeks prior to but not dangerously so until the day before his death.

The deceased leaves a wife and two small children, also three brothers: Hannas and August of this city and Herman who lives in Nebraska.

All except August were present at the death bed.

The funeral was held from the home on Saturday afternoon, the Rev. William Martens Officiating, and all that was mortal of John Wunder was laid to rest in the Five Mile House Cemetery (Hayes Township). John Wunder was born in Germany 44 years ago. He came to America in March 1866, settling near Davenport, this state. About 12 years ago he came to this vicinity where he has ever since resided. Six years ago Mr. Wunder was joined in marriage to Cathrine Blocker, and unto them two children were born. Mr. Wunder was a kind, good-hearted husband and father, and as well a neighbor, and now that he has been called from earth his little family can only leave it to the coming days to heal their sorrow.
