John W. Miller, Sr. John W. Miller, Sr., an old time resident of Manning vicinity, but of late of Denison, died Thursday, April 21, 1926, at his home there from apoplexy. He was born in Germany on January 7, 1853, and came to this country in 1872, settling at Davenport. Later he moved to Hayes Township and then to Iowa Township, Crawford County, where he operated a large farm and then moved to Manning. He was at one time engaged in stock buying.

He is survived by his wife and three sons, Dr. Julius John Miller, John Miller, Jr., and Emil John Miller of Ida Grove.
(His wife, Marie C. Kuhl was born February 22, 1859 and she died August 6, 1937.)

Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church Sunday at 3 p.m., Rev. Zimmerman officiating. Interment was made in the Manning Cemetery. We join with the sorrowing friends and relatives in our expression of sympathy.
