Mr. Schacht passed away at his home in Aspinwall after an illness of several years. Death was caused by cancer of the throat.

Mr. Schacht, a carpenter by trade, had spent virtually all his life at Aspinwall. He was born there November 9, 1885. He attended the grade school at Aspinwall, was graduated from Manning High School in 1904, and also attended the Slate University of Iowa at Iowa City.

January 17, 1912, he was married to Miss Anna Kai of Manning, who survives.

He also leaves four daughters: Mrs. Ival Armentrout (Irene), Botna; Mrs. Emil Fuss (Alva), Manning, and Virgine and Donna, at home; three grandchildren, and one brother, Henry Schacht of Long Beach, California, who arrived in Aspinwall Sunday.

Mr. Schacht's parents and one sister, Mrs. Adam Wiese, of Manning, preceded him in death.
