John F. Reinhold, Audubon druggist, who formerly lived at Manning and Arcadia, died suddenly at his home in Audubon early Sunday morning. He was 54 years old.
Mr. Reinhold had worked all day Saturday at his drug store and had conic home from there about midnight. Shortly afterward he was taken ill suddenly, his death apparently being caused by a heart attack. He had not been ill previously.
Funeral services are to be held Wednesday afternoon. Short rites at the family home in Audubon, to be held at 1 o'clock with the Rev. C.H. Orf, minister of the Methodist church, officiating, will be followed by services at 3 o'clock at the Ohde funeral home in Manning, with the Rev. Gordon Zimmerman, minister of the Audubon Presbyterian Church, in charge. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery, with the Masonic service to be given at the graveside by members of the Audubon lodge.
Mr. Reinhold, son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Reinhold, both deceased, was born at Aspinwall May 4, 1890. When a small boy he moved to Manning with his parents. After his graduation from high school here in 1908, he attended Highland Park College of Pharmacy, Des Moines, from which he was graduated in 1911. He then worked in the C.L. Harlan Drug Store at Harlan, moving from there in 1919 to Arcadia where he owned and operated a drug store, until he located in Audubon in 1929. There he opened a new drug store, which he was operating at the time of his death. He was making preparations to move into a new location.
He was married June 22, 1914, at Manning to Gretta D. West, who survives. He also leaves one daughter, Mrs. C.A. Stipe (Rhoda) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one son, John David, a student at Drake University, Des Moines, and three brothers: A.J., Manning; Lou H., Long Beach, California; and William F., Manning. His father died January 25, 1908, and his mother, September 19, 1932.
Mr. Reinhold was a member Setting Sun Masonic Lodge, Westside, the Eastern Star chapter of Audubon, the Lyons Club, and Chamber of Commerce, Audubon.
