John A. Paulsen Dies at Age 75
John August Paulsen, 75, of 2533 Vernon Court SE, a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, resident 25 years and an engineer of the State Highway Commission 44 years before his retirement, died Wednesday, September 30, 1964, following a sudden illness.

Born March 22, 1889, at Irwin, he was married to Ethel Seamands September 8, 1915, at Carroll. Mr. Paulson was a 1912 graduate of Iowa State College.

Surviving are his wife; a son, William P. of Madison, New Jersey; two grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Larsen of Irwin, Elsie McMahon of Manning, and Alice Gaines of Des Moines; three brothers, Karl and Alfred, both of Irwin, and Theodore of Manning.

Mr. Paulsen was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church, Iowa Engineering Society, the Chamber of Commerce, Arcadia Masonic Lodge at Ames and Iowa Consistory.

Memorial services: Turner Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Saturday by Dr. Jackson Burns.

Burial: Cedar Memorial Park, Cedar Rapids.
