Death of Mr. Pattison.
Died, at the home of his son, O.H., in Manning, Iowa, on Monday, February 8, 1886, Mr. John Q. Pattison, after a short illness, from typhoid pneumonia.

The deceased was born in Genesee County, New York, April 27, 1825, where he lived until he reached his thirteenth year, when he removed with his father to Tippecanoe County, Indiana, and it was here that Mr. Pattison spent the greater portion of his life, He was married at an early age, and was the father of eight children, five of whom are now living, His wife died fourteen years ago, and a few years thereafter Mr. Pattison moved to Illinois, where be lived until about four years ago, when he came to Iowa. The deceased lived in Manning with his son O.H. during the last four months. Mr. Pattison has been an active member of tire M.E. Church for forty-five years and was an exemplary Christian. Every one whom he became acquainted with was his friend and he enjoyed the confidence of all. He enlisted in the 135th Indiana Volunteers and served his country until the end of the eventful war of the rebellion.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. I.H. Elliott and took place from the M.E. Church yesterday forenoon, and the remains were interred in the Manning Cemetery.
