NICKOLA MUSFELDT
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church here for John Nickola Musfeldt, 82, retired farmer, who died Tuesday morning, March 3, 1959, at the Manning General Hospital. Mr. Musfeldt had been hospitalized since undergoing surgery several weeks ago.
Pastor George Eschenbacher will officiate at the rites. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery with nephews of Mr. Musfeldt as Pallbearers.
The body will be taken from the Ohde Funeral Home to the church at 12:30 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Musfeldt, son of John N. and Anna (Nuttleman) Musfeldt, was born June 1, 1876, in Schleswig Holstein, Germany. At the age of six he came to the United States with his family who settled at Westside. They moved to Aspinwall later.
He was married to Minnie Hell at Manning February 27, 1902. They farmed in this area until 1942, when they retired and moved to Manning.
Mr. Musfeldt is survived by his wife; seven children; Herman Musfeldt, Manning; Mrs. Herman (Linda) Johansen, Harlan; Mrs. Edmund (Elda) Gaskill, Audubon; Johnnie, Albert, and Edward Musfeldt, Manning, and Robert Musfeldt, Vero Beach, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. August (Kate) Nulle, Manning; and six brothers Fred, Aspinwall, and William, Julius, Hans, Frank, and Louie, Manning.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Henry, who died at the age of 13.
