John Nicholas Musfeldt, 65, of Manning died unexpectedly at his home here Sunday evening, January 8, 1978.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dave Rauch, Herb Bromert, Alvan H. Hansen, Hilbert Eischeid, Richard Crandall, and Ernest Grimm. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning.

Friends may call at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Musfeldt, son of Mr. and Mrs. John N. and Minnie (Hell) Musfeldt, was born on August 30, 1912, near Manning. He attended rural schools and the Manning schools. He married Ida Schoenjahn on January 19, 1939. They farmed north of Manning until 1969 when they moved to Manning. He worked in the locker plant for one year and went to work for MJM Enterprises on March 1, 1970.

Surviving are his wife, Ida of Manning; two sons, Jay of Salem, Oregon; and Phil in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Athens, Greece; a daughter, Mrs. Leon (Betsy) Precise, Birmingham, Alabama, and four grandchildren.

Also surviving are four brothers, Herman and Albert Musfeldt, both of Manning, Ed of Omaha, Nebraska, and Robert Musfeldt of Sarasota, Florida, and two sisters, Mrs. Malinda Johansen of Harlan and Mrs. Elda Gaskill of Audubon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.


John Musfeldt is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
