Funeral rites for John Mundt on Thursday
Funeral services for John Mundt, 79, will be held Thursday morning, Jan 30, at 11:00 a m at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning with the Rev G.C. Hattendorf officiating. Burial will be in Hayes township cemetery.

Son of Henry and Christina Hass Mundt, he was born July 11, 1884 in Washington Township. He married Pauline Lage in 1909 and the couple farmed north of Manning until moving to town in 1914. He was then employed by Priebe and Co. as a stationary engineer for almost 40 years.

His wife died in 1957. In 1959 he married Mrs. Bertha Hagedorn of Manning.

Mr. Mundt had been in ill health for several months and died Sunday evening, Jan. 26 at St. Anthony hospital in Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, a son, LeRoy in 1939, four brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife and son, Henry Mundt Manning; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Edna) Goudie, Childress, Texas; three stepsons. Lorn Hagedorn, Lewis Hagedorn, Alvin Hagedorn, three step daughters, Mrs. Alberta Grimm, Mrs. Delores Otto and Mrs. Myrtle Otto, all living in this vicinity, and a sister Mrs. Albert (Amanda) Puck, Manning.

We wish to thank all our relatives, friends and neighbors for all of the means by which they expressed themselves during the recent loss of our husband and father. Our special thanks to Pastor Hattendorf and Vicar Dassow for their words of comfort, Mrs. Iris Iddings and the choir for their music, to Drs. Hornberger and Skinner and the hospital staff for all they did and to the Lutheran Ladies Aid for serving the lunch. It is sincerely appreciated and will always be remembered.
