John Jochim, son of Fred and Metha (Ploen) Moeller, was born August 16, 1906, on a farm south of Manning in Audubon County, Iowa. He attended Brookfield school in Lincoln Township.
On March 15, 1946, John was united in marriage with Neola E. Dustin at the Methodist parsonage in Gray. Two children were born to this union. John and Neola made their home and farmed south of Manning. John also sold DeKalb seed corn for a number of years. In July of 1992 they moved into Manning.
John enjoyed farming, gardening and carpentry. He was a member of Gray United Methodist Church, participating on the church board. Throughout the years John served as Country School Director, Farm Bureau Township Director, Lincoln Township Clerk and Trustee, a member of the Audubon County FHA and REC Nominating Committees.
On Monday, June 11, 2001, John died at Manning Regional Healthcare Center in Manning, Iowa following a lengthy illness. He was 94 years, 9 months and 26 days of age.
Besides his parents; a brother Fred Moeller; two sisters, Amanda Sinow and Betty Moeller; two brothers-in-law Emil Sinow and Herbert Sinow and a nephew Melvin Sinow, preceded John in death.
He is survived by his wife Neola Moeller of Manning; two children John Dee Moeller and his wife Becky of Badger and Craig Moeller of Manning; two grandchildren Jeffrey Moeller of Fort Dodge and Lisa and her husband Ryan Hartley of Badger; two great granddaughters Morgan and Maddie Hartley of Badger; two sisters Minnie Sinow of Gray and Laura Moeller of Manning; sister-in-law Jean Dustin of Independence, Missouri; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
