Baby Dies
October 6, 1910 Manning Monitor

Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Martens were pained and grieved to learn that their infant boy, John William (born September 10, 1910), had died Monday afternoon. The little one had been sick but a very short time before its death. Its sickness was stomach trouble. It was less than a month old, and it was with deep sorrow the parents gave him up. Rev. Hosier of the Methodist Church preached the funeral address at the home, giving hope and cheer to the sorrowing parents and friends. Afterwards the remains were sorrowfully taken to the Manning Cemetery where they were laid to rest. The parents of the deceased have the sympathy of all their friends.

CARD OF THANKS
We wish to thank all those who so kindly helped us during the sickness and death of our little son. We especially thank Mrs. Harry Littrell for her help and Rev. Hozier for his kind words.
Mr. and Mrs. Gus Martens.

John Martens is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
