Death of John Musfeldt.
It was quite a surprise to our citizens last Saturday morning when word came that John Musfeldt was dead. He has always been a strong man, but of late has been ailing some and about ten days before his death he had to take to his bed, never to be up again,

Mr. Musfeldt had many warm friends for he had resided in the vicinity of Manning for a number of years and was a straight forward honest man. He leaves his wife, Anna (Nuttleman) and eight children to mourn his loss; seven sons and one daughter, one son having died last summer.

John Musfeldt was born, in Holstein Germany, July 27, 1850, and died last Friday afternoon at his late home, seven miles south west of the city. The funeral was held at the residence last Sunday, conducted by Rev. Martens after which the remains were laid to rest in the Manning Cemetery.
