Jerry, son of Gerhardt and Billie (DeBoth) Voge, was born June 3, 1955, Audubon, Iowa. He attended Manning Schools. On June 14, 1974, he was united in marriage with Diane Irlmeier at Templeton. He lived in Manning all of his life and his occupation was trucking. Jerry was a past member of the Manning Fire Department and was a member of the Hayes Township Schuetzen Verein.
He died accidentally at his home in Manning, December 5, 1982, at the age of 27 years, six months, and two days.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Jessie Voge, and twin brother, Terry, in 1972.
He is survived by one son, Jamey Lee Voge, his parents, Gerhardt and Billie Voge of Manning, two brothers, Jim of Manning, and Bill of Berkeley, California, and by a sister Ann of Manning. He is also survived by his grandparents, Louis and Ann DeBoth of Audubon, and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held December 9 at 2 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, Manning. Celebrant was Rev. Monsignor Dean Walker.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Hiatt, Tom Zak, Bud Mohr, Nick Dappen, Milo Stammer and Marlo Feick. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Brandt, Merlyn Hargens, Rick Wathen, Lyle Bald, John Wanninger, Rick Dammann, Roy Schilling, Jim McLaughlin, Brett Boone, and Don Menke. Interment was in the Manning Cemetery.
