JEANINE KAYE VINKE

Funeral service for Jeanine Kaye Vinke of Manning will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2004, at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.

Miss Vinke, 58, died Monday, February 2, 2004, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison.

Pastor Carl Noble of Zion Lutheran Church in Manning will officiate the service. Music will be by organist Carlys Stribe and the congregation.

Casket bearers will be Tim Jansen, Ronda Jansen, Tam Merriman, Terri Mohr, Bob Merriman, and Jake Jansen. Burial will be in Manning Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home until the funeral service.

A daughter of Averill and Hilda (Jansen) Vinke, she was born January 8, 1946, at Manning.

She was born handicapped, was cared for at home until age 6, resided at various homes for the handicapped and settled at Martin Luther Home in Denison.

Miss Vinke participated in the Martin Luther Home Learning Center, packaging Oriental Trade Co. products, making notebooks and other crafts and producing the bulletin for Vail Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show on TV listening to all kinds of music, especially Johnny Cash, dancing and summer picnics.

Survivors include two brothers: Adrain Vinke and his wife, Joan, of Woodland Park, Colorado, and Gerald Vinke of Morehead City, North Carolina; four nephews and their families: David Vinke of Ferndale, Washington, Douglas Vinke of Lawrence, Kansas, Brent Vinke of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Brad Vinke of Pensacola, Florida; two uncles: Alvin Jansen and his wife, Clariss, of Aspinwall and Pete Petersen of Mason City; four aunts: Irene Jansen of Manning, Odessa Vinke of Manning, Loretta Vinke of Manning and Lois Drake and her husband, Floyd, of Audubon; many cousins; and many friends at Martin Luther Home.

Miss Vinke was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, Dennis.
