JAY PRICKETT
Committal rites for Jay Prickett, 78, were held March 13, 1963, at 1 p.m. at the Manning Cemetery. Services had been held at 10 that morning at the Hoffman Mortuary in Omaha.

Born May 12, 1884, in Champaign, Illinois, he came to a farm near Lake City as a youth. He worked as an auctioneer there. In 1923, he married Rose Hagedorn of Manning at Lake City. The couple came to Manning in 1936, where he was employed by Priebe and Sons.

Mrs. Prickett died in 1946. In 1948, he moved to Omaha where he was an apartment caretaker. He died in an Omaha hospital March 10, 1963, from effects of smoke inhalation following a fire in his apartment.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John (Maxine) Nichols, Storden, Minnesota, and a sister, Mrs. Effie Redenius, Sioux City, Iowa.

William Petersen, Harold Hodne, Grover Steen, Julius Polzin, of Manning, and Leo and Virgil Hagedorn of Omaha acted as pallbearers for the local rites.
