JASPER R. SHERWOOD

Jasper H. Sherwood, 86, of Manning, died Saturday, October 11, 1980, at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. He formerly operated a fix-it shop in Manning and had been a resident of the nursing home for the past two and a half years.

Funeral services were held at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning at 1 p.m. Monday, October 13, with the Rev. Carl Sinning, retired pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiating, Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Bud Stahl, Curt, Bruce, Alan, and Raymond Grimm, and Alvin Musfeldt.

Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Bernadine Nye, Hometown, Illinois; and Mrs. P. Corcoran, London, England; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister Minnie Jessen, Low Moor, Iowa.

Mr. Sherwood was born July 31, 1894, at Clinton, Iowa, a son of Ferdinand and Helena (Petersen) Stahl. He came to Manning while young and farmed southeast of town. He was married to Alvina Joens in 1916. He spent his later years in Manning running his shop and doing odd jobs.
