Janice Maier

Janice Maier, age 78, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010, in San Antonio, Texas. Janice was born in Manning, Iowa, on December 28, 1931. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Pipestone High School in Minnesota.

After graduation, she worked for the Pacific Bell Phone Company for 34 years in Burbank, California. Janice retired in Kingman. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. She belonged to the Telephone Pioneers organization and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Ida Hagedorn. She is survived by her sister, Carol Koster and husband, Lester; nieces, Betsy Perez and husband Hernan and Vava Terhune and husband William; grandnephews, John Zarsky, and Bryant and Bryce Terhune.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2101 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 7400 Louis Pasteur, Suite 200, San Antonio, TX 78229. She will be interred with her parents in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Elkton, S.D.

Memorial services will be held in Kingman and Elkton at a later date.
