Death's Doings.
Again has our town been visited by the grim visaged monster, Death, and two homes are left desolate, one without a husband and father, and the other is robbed of a wife and mother.

The latter was Mrs. Jane Tingle, wife of Dr. William Tinkle, who formerly kept the Garfield House at this place. Mrs. Tingle had been sick for several months, but some six weeks ago had rallied considerably and hopes were entertained of her full recovery, But several causes combined to produce a relapse, and she grew rapidly worse and died about three o'clock on Saturday morning, September 9, 1882. Mrs. Tingle was born in Indiana in 1821, and was 61 years of age at the time of her death. Her maiden name was Jane Holliday. At the age of 16 she was married to Mr. John Hollingsworth, from which union were born two children.

After the death .of her first husband she married Dr. William Tingle, to whom she bore ten children. Eleven of her twelve children are still living, seven sons and four daughters. She was an intelligent, industrious woman, a loving wife and a kind, indulgent mother. She led a consistent Christian life and died in the hope of the rest that remaineth for all of God's people. Mr. Bailey, of Carroll, preached her funeral sermon at 11 A.M. on Sunday and her remains were interred in the cemetery in Iowa Township. Her loss is deeply felt by her husband and children, many of whom were present at her death. A large company of friends was present to sympathize with the bereaved.
