J. WILKINSON, 72, IOWA PIONEER DIED SUNDAY
James R. Wilkinson, 72, died Sunday in an Iowa City hospital, where he was taken Friday, after a long illness. He was a native of Johnson County, having always lived in Iowa City.

He is survived by his wife and four daughters and three sons: Joseph, Kansas City; James and John, Iowa City; and Sarah and Mayme, and Mrs. Alfred Franklin, Iowa City; and Elisabeth (Mrs. Hairy Conley) of Des Moines. Five brothers also survive: Frank S., Thomas, Charles, and Joe L. all of Iowa City; and Robert, of Pueblo, Colorado.

DEATH CLAIMS J.R. WILKINSON
Mr. James R. Wilkinson passed away Sunday morning, at 1:55, at a local hospital, where he was taken Friday. He had been in failing health a long time, however. His residence was 17 West Prentiss Street.

Mr. Wilkinson was 72. He was a native of Johnson County, and passed his whole life in Iowa City, Johnson County, and the state.

Surviving are his widow and four daughters and three sons: Joseph, Kansas City; James and John, Iowa City; and Sarah and Mayme, and Mrs. Alfred Franklin, Iowa City; and Elizabeth (Mrs. Mary Conley) of Des Moines. Five brothers also survive: Frank S., Thomas, Charles, and Joe L., all of Iowa City; and Robert, of Pueblo, Colorado.

Mr. Wilkinson was a good man and a devoted member of St. Patrick's Church, where the funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Friends of the family will tender sympathy in their time of sorrow.
