James Rothfolk is Buried Today

James G. Rothfolk, 66, Manning farmer, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll. He had been ill for some time and in the hospital for 16 days.

Funeral services will be this Thursday afternoon at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. J.M. Ansorge officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery. Pallbearers are Wm. Musfeldt, Vertus Lamp, Herman Puck, Floyd Campbell, George Puck, and Pete Puck.

Mr. Rothfolk was born June 24, 1886 at New Holstein, Wis., son of Peter and Emma Meggers Rothfolk. At the age of 15 he came with his parents to a farm near Jefferson, later moving to a farm near Manning.

He was married to Sophia Grau of Manning on February 13, 1913. The couple lived in Austin, Minn., for three years, then coming to their present home near Manning.

Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Mrs. John (Elda) Barten of Botna, Mrs. August (Eileen) Mundt of Manning, Mrs. Henry (Lorraine) Gruhn of Manning, Norman at home, Mrs. William (Delores) Fastje of Denison, and Mrs. Ed (Mary Ann) Goldsberry of Maxwell. There are nine grandchildren.

He also leaves three sisters: Mrs. Estella Hinz of Denison, Mrs. Harry (Johanna) McWhirter of Fairfield, and Anna Rothfolk of Manning. A brother Edward preceded him in death and another brother died in infancy.


James Rothfolk is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
