Pallbearers were nephews, Irwin Thiedeman, Reynold Hagge, Melvin Hagge, Leo Wuebker, Everett Dau, Leonard Schoessler and Vernon Anthony.
Mr. Mundt was the first white child born in Washington township, Carroll county, March 7, 1872. He was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Joachim Mundt, who were among the first settlers this area.
Mr. Mundt received his education in the rural and Arcadia schools. He was married to Mary Anthony June 29, 1898 in Carroll.
They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1948.
Mr. and Mrs. Mundt farmed 33 years on the original Mundt farm, eight miles north of Manning. They retired in 1931 and moved to Manning. Mr. Mundt's hobby was an Interest in trees and he planted hundreds of varieties.
The deceased had been in failing health the past year. He was taken to Manning General hospital Jan. 25 and passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 30.
Survivors include his widow and a daughter, Bernice. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
Among those attending services m from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Quintin Hanneman, Albert Hanneman, and Mr. and Mrs. C. Gage, of Dunlap; Dethlef Passick of Earlham, Mr. John Steenhusen and Mrs. Mary Welch of Irwin; Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Fisk and Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Farrell of Carroll; many friends and relatives from Westside and Arcadia.
