Final Rites Held At Manning For Jacob Petersen
Funeral services for Jacob Petersen were held at the Ohde Funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Arthur Raeside of the Presbyterian Church in charge. Pallbearers were Peter Moeller, William Schultz, William Nulle, Peter Ploen, Louie Hammer, and William Wiese. Clifford M. Johnson sang solos for the services.

Mr. Petersen was born April 21, 1866, in Holstein, Germany, the son of Paul and Cathrina Petersen. He died at his home in Manning November 20, 1945.

He came to this country at the age of 17 and had lived in this vicinity since then.

He was married March 3, 1886, to Cathrina Carlsen who died June 10, 1908.

Six children were born to them: Mrs. Lena Grimm, Mrs. William Misselhorn (Marie), Mrs. Walter Grage (Melinda), of Manning; Mrs. George Petersen (Alma), Hardwick, Minnesota; Mrs. Herman Nissen (Lilly), Carroll; and a son, Carl, of Westside.

On February 8, 1918, he married Anna Schwieso.

Surviving with his wife are the six children and 15 grandchildren. Three grandsons and also six great-grandchildren are still in the military service.

His parents, one brother, and three sisters preceded him in death.
