IVAN E. WURR
Funeral service for Ivan E. Wurr of Lake View will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2000, at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake.

Mr. Wurr, 71, died On Monday, January 17, 2000, at Loring Hospital in Sac City.

The Rev. Roger Carlisle will officiate the service.

Casket bearers will be Wayne Curlile, Vernon Ehlers, Grant Nulle, Tyler Hathaway, Chad Morton, and Todd Morton. Honorary casket bearers will be Meredith Wurr, Megan Hathaway, Shannon Nulle, Brandie Sebeniecher, Dawn Sebeniecher, Kelly Carlson, and Tami Morton.

Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lidderdale.

Visitation began after 2 p.m. today, at the Farber-Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View.

A son of Adolph and Dorothy (Onken) Wurr, he was born on June 1, 1928, in Carroll. He was baptized on July 1, 1928, at Lidderdale by Rev. Herman and was confirmed into the Lutheran faith on March 29, 1942, also at Lidderdale.

He attended the rural county school No. 1 outside Lidderdale.

He and Delores Wenck were married on November 2, 1947, and the couple farmed in rural Lidderdale. Delores Wurr died on December 21, 1955.

Mr. Wurr married Joyce (Parks) Carlson on November 8, 1956, and the couple farmed near Lidderdale until moving to Manning. He then was employed by the city of Manning, J&S Feeds and at Manning Community School, where he served as a custodian and bus driver for 17 years.

Joyce Wurr died on October 25, 1988. Mr. Wurr retired in 1990 and moved to Lake View in 1994.

He and Elenora (Wright) Bromley were married on at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake.

He was a member of the Lutheran churches in the towns he resided, including Peace Lutheran in Wall Lake. Mr. Wurr enjoyed card games, dancing, fishing, and gardening.

Survivors include his wife; Elenora of Lake View; two sons, Paul Wurr and his wife, Sully, of Denver, Colorado, and Dan Carlson of Del Rio, Texas; three daughters and their husbands, Wanda and Keith Hathaway of Phoenix, Arizona; LuAnn and Mark Nulle of Manilla; and Debbie and Mike Sebeniecher of Grinnell; two step-sons, Bill Morton and his wife, Joyce, of Sioux Rapids and Steve Morton and his wife, Vickie Fast, of Grand Junction, Colorado; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Verl of Manning, Darwin of Havelock, and Larry of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; and two sisters, Shirley Wenck of Carroll and Donna Wright of Carroll.

Mr. Wurr was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Delores and his wife Joyce.
