Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church, Manning, with the Rev. Carl Sinning officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn with Mrs. Judy Joens, vocalist. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning.
Mrs. Summerville, daughter of William and Margaret (Taylor) Shaw, was born near Gray on May 5, 1889. She graduated from Gray High School in 1907. She taught country school at the Cameron Township School for a period of time. Her marriage to William Summerville took place on March 13, 1912. They farmed between Manning and Gray until November 1958, when they retired and moved to Manning. Mr. Summerville died on April 7, 1966. She had continued to make her home in Manning and moved to the Manning Plaza about one and one-half years ago. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Ladies organization.
Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Alfred (Margaret) Spies of rural Manning; Mrs. Darrell (Evelyn) Bales of Manilla; a son, Dave, of Saratoga, California; seven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Jessie Wenig of Gray; Mrs. Pearl Wenig of Audubon; and Mrs. Effie Starck of Audubon.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two brothers and four sisters.
