Mrs. Zender was born in Manning, May 28, 1885, daughter of William and Sophia (Grube) Kusel, and lived here until 1931, when she moved to Carroll. After seven years there she moved to California. She died May 26, 1972, at San Diego, California.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Alexander Lake of Sac
City; three sons, Wayne, Leeroy, and Ralph, all living in California; eight
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a sister.

MRS. IDA ZENDER
Mrs. Ida Zender, 87, of San Diego, California, died May 26, 1972, in San Diego.
Graveside services will be held at the Manning Cemetery at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Ohde Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Zender was born May 28, 1885, in Manning, a daughter of William and Sophie (Grube) Kusel. She attended Ewoldt No. 2, rural school.
She married Joseph A. Zender March 15, 1908, at Sioux City.
The couple lived at Dedham for one year and then moved to Manning. Following Mr. Zender's death September 4, 1931, she moved to Carroll, where she lived for seven years. She then moved to San Diego.
Mrs. Zender is survived by four children, Mrs. Clark
(Alexine) Lake of Sac City; Wayne of San Diego; Leeroy of Millbrae, California;
and Ralph of Sacramento, California; eight grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Blondina Jarvis.
