HOWARD VANDUZER EXPIRES IN WAVERLY
And in Private Life Just as Companionable, Honest and Esteemed Was Late Howard C. VanDuzer.

Howard Clinton VanDuzer, aged fifty years, died at his late residence on Park Avenue at 9 o'clock last night, February 23, 1910, after a long and brave fight against a disease which was finally pronounced tuberculosis of the spine, his death occurring just four years to a day later than that of his father, the late Richard D. VanDuzer.

Mr. VanDuzer was born in Waverly, New York, in 1859, son of Richard and Harriet (Everson) VanDuzer, and, with the exception of six years' residence in Manning, Iowa, had lived in this place.

He was graduated from the Waverly High School and Eastman's Business College in Poughkeepsie, and for 20 years was associated in business with his father in the extensive manufacturing plant of the American Basket Company.

He was married in 1885 to Miss Kittie Towne of Manning, Iowa, who died a year ago. One daughter, Harriet, aged fourteen, survives him. He is also survived by his step-mother, three sisters, Mrs. W.H.W. Jones, Misses Mary and Annie, and one brother, Richard D. VanDuzer, Jr., of Athens, Pennsylvania.

The funeral will be held from the late residence Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Dr. Ross of Hornell, former pastor of the Waverly Presbyterian Church, will officiate, and St. Omer's Commandery, No. 19, K.T., of which he was a member, will have charge of the service at the grave. They will come to Waverly via trolley, leaving Elmira at 10 o'clock. The interment will be in the family plot in Forest Home Cemetery.
