Homer Vincen Weems 75, of Botna died at the Manilla Manor early Wednesday morning. He had been in failing health for the past several years and entered the Manilla Manor April 5. Services were held at 11 AM at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, with Rev. Louis H. Miller of the Calvary Baptist Church, Manning, officiating. Interment will be in the Manning Cemetery under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning. Friends may call after 1 PM Thursday at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning.

Mr. Weems, son of Charles and Rosa (Millet) Weems was born September 25, 1901, in Greene County. At the age of 3 he moved with his parents to Shelby County where he attended schools near his home. He had worked as a farm labor in the Botna community for many years and had lived in Botna for the past 62 years.

Surviving are 3 brothers Burl and Eldon Weems of Botna and Newton Weems of Calico Rock, Arkansas. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers Ralph and Earl Weems.
