HERTHA A. WYCOFF
Funeral services for Hertha A. Wycoff were held Wednesday, November 23, 1988, at 2:00 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. Pastor Robert Riggert of Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, Iowa officiated the service with music provided by Paula Weiss and Fern Jensen. Interment was in Manning City Cemetery with Dick McConnell, Dwight Kesson, Larry Mahnke, Milford McConnell, Paul Knudsen and Laverne Olsen as casketbearers.
Hertha, daughter of August and Anna Claussen Riechert, was born November 11, 1911, at Manning, Iowa. She attended Manning schools through the eighth grade after which time she worked for various families in their homes. Hertha was united in marriage with Gordon "Mike" Wycoff on July 3, 1933, at the Lutheran church in Manning. After her marriage Hertha was a homemaker. Her husband died on September 27, 1979. Hertha was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning.
Hertha remained in her home until her health began to fail and she moved to the Manning Plaza in April of 1980. She died there Sunday evening, November 20, 1988 at the age of 77 years and 9 days.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; by two sisters, Louise Koelle and Elsie Jackson; and by a grand-nephew, Nicholas Downing.
Hertha is survived by a nephew, Donald Jackson, of Ballwin, Missouri; by two nieces, Waldean Hargis, of Rolla, Missouri and Linda Downing, of Guthrie Center; by the following grand-nieces and nephews: Timothy and Michael Jackson, Ellen Wynn, Mary Peppers, Patrick Kaiser, Vickie Gardner, and Justin and Leigh Downing; by two sisters-in-law, Gladys Ramsey, of Manning and Norine and her husband, Milford McConnell, of Manning; and by other relatives and friends.
