Funeral rites for Herman Ruhde of Manning were held at 11 a. m. Wednesday, January 30, 1974, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. Rev. Don Griffin of the United Methodist Church officiated with burial in Manning Cemetery.
Herman, the son of Henry and Katie Martens Ruhde, was born February 13, 1909, at Manning. He made his home in Manning most of his life and attended school at Manning. He was united in marriage February 3, 1932, to Bertha Armstrong, and has followed the trade of carpenter since 1937.
He had been in failing health the past two months and died suddenly at his home in Manning on Monday morning, January 28, 1974. Herman was a member of the United Methodist Church in Manning.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son-in-law, Richard Mincey, and one grandson.
Surviving are his wife Bertha, three children Mrs. Beverly Mincey of Des Moines, Mrs. Eugene (Shirley) Phelps of Bayard, and Craig Ruhde of Des Moines; three grandchildren and three brothers William Ruhde of Manilla; Henry Ruhde of Saugus, California; and Emil Ruhde of Manning.
