Herbert Frank Carl Molter, son of Edward and Lena (Pruter) Molter, was born October 14, 1913, at Flandreau, South Dakota, and attended grade school in Flandreau and Egan, South Dakota, before moving to Westside, Iowa, where he graduated from high school in 1933. He owned Moellers Accordion Band which traveled throughout the Midwest from 1936 to 1955. He lived in Waterloo and Cedar Falls, Iowa, until moving to Sioux Falls in 1952 where he had worked as an instrumental repairman for Williams Piano Co.

He was married to Florence G. Bornhoft on April 5, 1936, at Westside, Iowa.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls and the American Federation of Musicians.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Florence; two sons, Charles E., Richard D., both of Sioux Falls; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Judith Ann) Wenham, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mrs. Robert (Caroline) Iverson, Flandreau, South Dakota; six grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
