OLD RESIDENT DIES

Henry Wulf, who is well known in and around Manning, having for a good many years lived here, but who has been a resident of Davenport, Iowa, for the past fifteen years, passed away after a brief illness, Friday morning March 1st.

He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Wehrmann at Pisgah, Iowa, where himself and wife had been visiting for the past five months. His death came on very unexpected, apoplexy being the cause.

The deceased was born in Schleswig Holstein, Germany in the year, 1851, and came to America in 1872 directly to Davenport, Iowa, and from there to Manning, Iowa. He returned to Davenport later to make his permanent home. Five months ago he went for a visit to the home of his daughter and son in law, who reside at Pisgah, Iowa, at whose home death overtook him. Those who mourn the death of the departed one are his wife, Mrs. Anna Wulf, and only daughter Mrs. William Wehrmann, two grand children and three brothers. The remains were shipped to Davenport, where the funeral took place on Monday, at 2 P.M. and where he was laid to rest in the Fairmont Cemetery.
