DEATH OF HENRY WEGNER

Henry Wegner who had been ailing and had been confined to his home for the past two months died Tuesday evening of last week, February 12, 1907. He had not been a well man for several years being troubled with that dreaded disease, asthma, which as age creeps on always gets worse, especially in the cold damp weather of which we have had so much for the past few months.

Mr. Wegner was a man among men and his word was as good as his bond.

He was a good kind husband and a loving father and all his neighbors and acquaintances were his friends.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church for many years. Mr. Wegner was born in Schwarbock Gut Panker, Germany 69 years ago and was married to Margaret Hilbert in 1869.

Ten children were born to them and all have been reared on the farm four miles west of Manning to which Mr. Wegner moved thirty-one years ago.

The funeral was held at the home last Friday conducted by Rev. Jost, Pastor of the Lutheran Church at Glidden, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Manning Cemetery followed by a long concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. The bereaved have the sympathy of the entire community in their sorrow.
