FUNERAL SERVICES FOR HERMAN KUHL AND HENRY WEGNER HELD THURSDAY- FRIDAY

Victims of an Automobile Accident Here Last Tuesday

Few more tragic tales have been recorded in the annals of Carroll County than that enacted at our little city in the morning hour of Tuesday, October 15. When the final debris was cleared away, Henry Wegner and Herman Kuhl were dead, and Robert Messick was seriously injured. The countryside was shocked beyond measure and the remark, "you never can tell" was made in a hushed voice.

In the early morning hour, when people began to rise from their slumbers and prepare for their daily activities, the news came that and, automobile accident had occurred about a mile west of town. Tourists from Minnesota passing by stopped to render aid and send in a call.

Three young men, barely out of their teens, the pride and hopes of their parents, guardians and relatives were returning from a night's entertainment, where they mixed with their best friends in jollity, and parted from them with a smile and a "Good Bye" - it was a farewell forever from the two.

The heartbreaking news to their parents and guardians who with tender care and loving hearts have guarded and cared for them all these years, is almost beyond human strength. The many relatives and friends of these young men are grief-stricken and their heartfelt sympathy is extended to the immediate relatives in their hour of sorrow.
