Henry Roenfeldt Rites, Manning, On Wednesday
Funeral rites will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Ohde Funeral Home for Henry Roenfeldt, 74, who succumbed at his home in South Manning, Sunday, February 28, 1943, after being in failing health since last summer.

The Rev. E.E. Zimmerman of Carroll will officiate at the services. Bonita (Mrs. Henry W.) Hagedorn and Clifford M. Johnson will sing two duets. "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Rock of Ages." Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery and pallbearers will be six grandnephews, Earl Stribe, Carl Musfeldt, Musfeldt, Herman Sievers, Alfred Hansen, and John Hansen.

Mr. Roenfeldt, who had farmed in this vicinity for many years, moved into Manning after retiring about twenty years ago. He was born in Clinton County, Iowa, December 29, 1868.

His marriage to Miss Mary Ruge took place in Manning December 30, 1891. In December 1941, they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Surviving with his wife is one daughter, Mrs. August Bornhoft (Elsie), of Manning. Another child died in infancy.

He was the last of a family of three children, one brother and one sister having preceded him in death.

Note: there is a dispute in the correct spelling.
It was spelled Ronfeldt in this article.
It is spelled Reinfeldt on Henry's tombstone.
Mary's obit has Roenfeldt.
Henry's death certificate has Ronfeldt.
Mary's death certificate has Roenfeldt.
It is spelled Fred & Christina Ronnfeldt on their tombstone in the Irwin Cemetery. Their daughter Anna, married Nick Hansen who was a brother of Alfred & John who were pallbearers.

For now I'm going with Roenfeldt but it may need to be adjusted if more documentation in the future confirms one of the spellings.
Roenfeldt would be spelled Rönfeldt with the umlaut.

If anyone in the family can confirm the correct spelling and might also know if/how/when other family members may have changed this last name - would be helpful.
