The services were held in the Trent, South Dakota, church, with the pastor, Rev. R. Gager officiating.
Henry H. Masemann was the first child born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Mary Ann (Heinricy) Masemann, on November 20th, 1889, at Saint Donatus, Iowa. He grew to manhood there where he became a fireman for the Illinois Central Railroad, later being promoted to engineer, but ill health caused quarry for some time and later moved him to quit this. After his removal to Dell Rapids he worked at the west to a farm. For the past 15 years he has lived on a farm one mile west of Trent.
He is survived by his father, Henry Masemann of Dell Rapids; his widow, Lena (Scharnnorst) Masemann; Leslie and Raymond of Trent; Morcelle of Chicago; two daughters Mrs. Gertrude Artoefer of Dubuque, Iowa; Norma of Trent; four brothers, Leo, Joe, and Walter of Dell Rapids; Emil of Flandreau; two sisters, Mrs. Sabina Reed of Grove City, Minnesota; and Esther of Winona, Minnesota. All were here for the last rites, except the daughter in Dubuque and the son in Chicago, who travels for a newspaper at that place and could not be located at this time.
Interment took place in the Egan Cemetery with Floyd Whipkey, Nels Larson, Luverne Krier, Ray Loucks, Charles Smith, and Albert Huwe as pallbearers.
Henry's first wife was Marie P. (Dempsey) Masemann-Rhoades, married in 1912.
