A lunch will be served at the Arcadia Lutheran Church following the committal services. All friends and relatives are invited.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church, Arcadia, with interment in the Manning. Cemetery. The body will be taken from the Ohde Funeral Home here, to the church at 9:30 Saturday morning.
A son of Charles and Wilhelmina (Schwartz) Wenzel, he was born October 22, 1888, near Manilla. He attended school near Manilla and then farmed with his father. His marriage to Frieda Rohr took place February 28, 1912, and they lived first on a farm near Aspinwall. After spending 14 years in Minnesota, they returned and lived for 15 years on farms near Irwin and Manilla, moving in 1944 to another farm near Westside. About ten years ago, the couple moved to a small acreage in Hayes Township, living there until entering Eventide Home.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Phillip Wenzel, Westside; five grandchildren; one brother, Bernhardt Wenzel, Vail; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Rose) Rutz and Mrs. Jake (Molly) Fielweber, Manning; four half-sisters, Mrs. Herman Huebner, Manilla; Mrs. Geraldine Arkebauer, Milwaukee; Mrs. Wilhelmina Renken; and Mrs. Magdalene Brown, Manson; and one half-brother, Carl Wenzel, Fort Dodge.
Four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
